Seven Roads to Glory by Carolyn Porter, D. Div. is a captivating read that I was unable to put down. Carolyn Porter came up with a brilliant vision to recount the lives of seven ordinary people who struggled to overcome sexual abuse, drug addiction, abandonment, death, illness and more in order to help others become the victor in their own lives.
I cried with Anita, felt pain with Danielle, triumphed with Harry, felt power with Carolyn, changed my thoughts with Beverly, was empowerd by Rick and saw myself in Kate. After reading their heavy-hearted stories, I quickly realized these seven people were not so ordinary, but were indeed heroes who were able to share with the readers their most intimate moments in order to give faith to others. I grew to love these seven brave people because they gave me such strength and hope for my daily life.
Dr. Porter magnificently shares her wisdom and experience with a special Afterward found at the end of the book. Step by step she guides the reader with a simple plan to follow in order to help change and refocus your life so you can become the victor. Carolyn asks, “Where are you in your life right now? Are you experiencing a heavy burden that keeps you stumbling and sometimes falling to the ground? Get up! You can do it! You have the strength within you and the power to overcome anything-yes, anything!” Carolyn is able to share with you her strong beliefs that anyone, yes anyone, can begin to change their mindset and see different results take place in their very own life. This is what makes Carolyn such a phenomenal author.
Seven Roads To Glory is not only for the person who is struggling to survive but also for the person who has triumphed over the unthinkable. I believe it is important everyday to celebrate and remember the battles we have chosen to overcome in order to rise above future adversities. We all have the choice at anytime to give up the fight and become defeated, but I know after reading their stories you will say, “If these individuals didn’t give up, then neither will I!” And I believe Carolyn Porter’s vision for this book was just that, no matter what life may throw at you, never give up, for you have the power to overcome it!

Carolyn Porter, D. Div., has added another winner to her growing list of powerful and inspiring books. A must read for all, Seven Roads to Glory illustrates through seven authentic stories, how each of us has the power to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles through love, grace, wisdom and a stro ng sense of self.
This powerful collection chronicles the real life stories of seven everyday people, including Carolyn, and how each overcame emotional, financial or physical adversity to create a life they love.
I was hooked from the first page as Harry recounts his journey—one that landed him in a wheelchair after stopping to help a stranded motorist. Next there is Anita, whose life challenges moved me to tears. Not only did she survive, but she has accomplished more in her young life than many adults without her challenges. Then there is Rick, who shares his collection of short true life stories with warmth and up-lifting messages for everyone. Carolyn reflects on her own story. It takes such courage not only to bare one’s soul, but to express the inner feelings and thoughts of others so eloquently. Carolyn’s book triumphantly celebrates our individual choice and power to become the victor instead of the victim when life takes an unexpected turn.
The book closes with the recounting of the lives of three women who have forgiven themselves and their offenders to become victors over abuse, drug addiction and more. To add to the authenticity of these stories, each contributor added their contact information to help others along their own personal path to a glorious life. This collection will speak to anyone who wants to remove the roadblocks in their life and renew their faith and belief in what is possible.
